Sanford chiropractor Dr. Andre Knecht and the rest of our team are honored to serve the wide range of people from our greater NC community. We are experienced in the evaluation and treatment of a number of common health conditions (a few listed below) which respond positively to chiropractic care.
Sciatica (compression of the sciatic nerve in your lower back), cubital tunnel syndrome (compression of the ulnar nerve in your elbow), and carpal tunnel syndrome (compression of the median nerve in the wrist) are all common nerve impingement syndromes that can derail someone's active lifestyle. In addition to nerve pain (which often feels stabbing, searing, shooting, or burning), nerve compression can also lead to numbness, tingling, and weakness. Nerve impingement is often caused by disc herniation or bulge (which we also treat!).
This is a common syndrome in people who have experienced car accidents, sporting accidents, slips, and falls, and so on. It's preceded by the rapid forward/backward movement of the neck and can cause stiffness and pain in the neck and shoulders as well as headaches, ringing in the ears, insomnia, and numbness.
Inflammation and irritation to the thick band of tissue under your foot (the "arch") can lead to sharp heel pain. This pain is often worse in the morning or upon first rising from sitting, and can be caused by doing too much too soon in training, being overweight, or standing a lot at your job.
Joint pain and back pain are commonly caused by osteoarthritis, a type of inflammation associated with "wear and tear" and a history of injury. Movement in affected joints is painful and limited. Other causes of joint pain include misalignments, dislocations, gout, and rheumatoid arthritis.
You name it, we've seen it: rotator cuff strains, Achilles tendonitis, runner's knee, tennis elbow, and more. Micro-damage to your connective tissues can cause pain, swelling, redness, and stiffness, and if left untreated can easily go from an acute issue to a long-lasting problem.
These conditions (and others!) aren't going to be the exact same from person to person, so our staff is always conscientious of that and will be customizing care to meet each individual patient's needs. Our services are 100% drug-free and non-invasive, so you can minimize your downtime and risk of adverse effects while truly optimizing your overall health and well-being!
